Capturing Michigan's Magic!
Creating a Studio Painting from Reference Material
In this 4 day oil painting workshop you will learn how to use field studies, photographs and other material to create a studio painting. Your painting can be landscape, streetscape or figure.
The class will begin with a review of important elements that are the foundation of good painting. We will discuss the importance of drawing, values, edges, and color and I will show you how to become more efficient, faster, and more accurate while creating successful paintings. You should bring photos, field studies and any other reference material you normally use in your studio. If you have an electronic tablet for your photos, bring it. Students who register will receive a complimentary instructional DVD by mail before the class date as well as a list of workshop supplies needed for the class.
